l applied at mervyn's, macy's, journey's, robert and wayne, chuck e cheese, toys r us, and a sporting goods store on monday. how long will it take until they call me back? l really wanna know, because this could be my first job and l wanna know for future references.

Usually, within a week. If you do not hear by then, you might call them back and say that you're just checking on the status of your application. it tells them that you're still interested and that you have not heard one way or another.

They wont call u back. You have to call them up & say '' hi l applied here on ---- & im just wondering if u r looking to hire at all'' then they say '' oh we arent hiring till december '' or '' ya we r looking for a couple people ill remember to look at ur application'' then they take ur name & number..

If u dont call them up they probably wont even glance at u or call u for months ^^

Oh remember to ask for the hiring manager or just a manager! Dont just talk to any employee

Sound really interested & excited about getting a job there & they will remember you!

seems odd that atleast one of them has not called you,

maybe casue you have not had a job before they are a little skeptical.

There is no set rule for when an employer should notify u of the next step in the process, or if you're being considered as a potential employee.

All of their responses will be based upon:
1. By when do the positions need to be filled;
2. How many people will be hired & trained;
3. How many hours per week r required;
4. Where will the job be located; &
5. What will the new staff be paid. (Hourly rate?)

All of the to these questions r different, based upon the hiring organization. Since now is a great time to apply to these places in time for the holiday season, you're timing is excellent.

Good business manners allow u to call the manager of each place in a week. Speak to the manager directly, introduce yourself, & ask the 5 questions above. Write down the manager is name for later. Have ur list ready & keep ur call to 5 minutes or less, speaking clearly with no slang. Thank the person for their time & tell them u will be interested in their feedback.

They will be impressed that you're so organized & sincere in ur job search & will certainly remember ur name when they come across the application.
