you do not want this job you will get cancer from all the x-rays. You are going to be a chef. l know you probably do not want to, but its not up to you its up to me, now go be a chef.

Well do u call $48,170 a year a lot of money. That was the median annual earnings of Radiologic Techonologist in May 2006. Well most people start off taking x-rays. But u & expand in to doing CT's, ultrsonuds. Now u could also expand in to doing MR l is but some hospitals want u to have a four year degree in order to do that(the three hospitals that l worked at u needed one to do MRI). Now u can get promoted in to supervisory, admisistraive or teaching positions. Now schooling can range in to 1 to 4 years with the Two-year associate degree programs r most prevalent. The two-year degree is call A.A.S. Radilogic Technology degree, most of ur colleges have it. Now, health care has lots of other opitons. it is funny how people answer to certain questions in & really do not know anything about the subject area & think they do because they got it online. *rolling eyes* or the fact that the r too ignorant to know that radiation comes everywhere even from ur tv, cell phone or being outside as well. do u know ur own television has its own x ray tube so now will u stay away from it or even a computer even. its funny also people who r scared of getting x rays or such things in the radiology dept r the same people who smoke & they r the ones afraid of getting cancer. u get A LOT MORE FROM SMOKING esp all those chemicals or particles coming out of those buds. a radioloigcal technologist will never be rich but u will never go hungry or say u can not raise or take care of ur family either. there r different fields to go into & no u do not need a BS degree to go to MRI! Before 2015 or so, yes u do need an AAS degree to become a tech now from being an x ray tech, nuclear medicine tech or a radiation therapist. A community college or a hospital based program to become an x ray tech is all u need for now to become one. There r opportunities in this field w/o going back to school but there r some positions u should. l will not lie to u the market for techs in the radiology field is dim but ultrasound is fairly demanding for now.
