l just started training for a job as a debt collector. The training is 2 wks and there is, of course, a quota. During the first week of training (5 days) You have to memorize 3 pages of script and the laws of debt collection. On Friday, you have to be able to say the script from memory along with any rebuttals you are given and be able to get back on the script from memory. You also have to pass a test on law.. If by day two you can have the first page memorized, you will be let go, because then you are too far behind. l knew that being in debt collection would involve a collection quota, but l never thought it would be like this. In training, l am only making $10, then if l pass, l will make $12. l had to call out today, because l started feeling sick. l was not getting much sleep, because l was up trying to memorize the script. l was lucky enough not to get fired. They said that l am doing well so they will let me come back tomorrow. l need the money, but is this really worth it?

Mike O-l agree 100%. l need the job, but l am a kind soft hearted person. l really am the type that smiles 24/7 and nothing like a debt collector. l just went for the first place that called me back.

l worked for General Revenue Corporation, and that sounds somewhat like our training. However we were paid 8 bucks an hour starting from the very beginning during the 2 week training course. They just recently expanded the state laws and there is even more crap to memorize now. The bonus plans at those places are not to bad, if you can just make it through training.

If it is that stressful now, wait until you start making the calls, l doubt that you've spent your life being heartless, it wo not be any fun. Heck, just take a job a McDonalds or some-such, where at least you will be dealing with friendly people.
