l went for a job interview yesterday. They said they'd call either yesterday or today in the morning. It is almost 1pm right now and l still have not heard from them. Should l worry? Does this mean l am not getting the job? l also mentioned to my current employer that they might call her as a reference...Now l am worried l jinxed the whole thing because she is very negative about the recession and finding jobs... :(

l do not think you need to worry yet. When l interviewed for my current job they said they'd call by Wednesday and did not call until Friday, but l still got the job. Something may just be holding the process up a little. If you are worried, however, it is okay to call them and just ask for the status.

well no u dont need to worry if they dont call by thursday l would call them. l went for an interview once told me id hear either way by a certain time two days later l heard that l got the job. maybe they just got busy. call on thursday its shows u have patience & u understand business but u r also interested in the position.
in fact l put in an application last month for a job that closed on the 26th of september, l was sure l hadnt gotten the job when l didnt hear anything last friday she called to set up an interview for this friday. just goes to show what patience can do.
id definately wait & see & if u dont hear anything call on thursday.
