You do not need a degree but you will need to know a bit about computers (Excel, Word, etc) and how to type. Maybe take a class or two to increase your skills.

No, actually go to a staffing agency and they can test the level of proficiency you have on computer programs. They then can help you find a temp job or a temp to hire. That is what l did and at one point l was a manager at company because l worked hard and l was a quick learner. Now l have 2 great paying jobs and l am still working on getting my degree.

A receptionist job is usually an entry level position and you will not be required to have a degree. l worked as a receptionist and did not need prior experience or a degree. They will teach you everything you need to know. It would be a good thing if you knew your way around a computer though. They may want you to type fast and be able to use common programs found on a computer. Your phone voice will have to be satisfactory also. Good luck!

You do not need a degree. Most jobs do require a high school diploma and some computer skills. Receptionist jobs are usually entry level so you definitely can get a job. Good luck!

In Houston, most staffing agencies prefer that you have a college degree. Most companies like to hire people with a degree so that they can move them up in the company. Sadly, without a degree most corporations cannot move a person within company. Good luck!

No u do not need a degree. Most employers r looking for someone who is very energetic, upbeat, is clean & neat looking, has a strong phone voice, is on time & dependable, & uses common sense. If u have those basic qualities, u should be able to get a job as a Receptionist. Some employers will require u to have at least some basic knowledge of a computer & know how to type. It just depends on the company.
As far as applying for a Secretarial position, u will probably have to have a few more qualifications. You will need to know how to type well, have good grammar & know how to use it, how to write a letter correctly, may need to know several computer programs such as Excel, Quickbooks, or others. Usually a Secretary works more directly for one person or a couple of people in a company, whereas a Receptionist works at the front desk & phones for the whole company.
Some smaller companies turn the two positions into one position. If u have to do both jobs, ask for more pay.
