Can you advise how much you make?l am looking to a pharmacy tech program at the local community college, it is like 2-3 months long, it seems a little too good to be true to be so short.Do you take a test after you finish the semester-long course, and then you can become a pharmacy tech?

Also, are they in demand, or is it hard to find a job doing this in another place other than a CVS or Walgreens?

l started off as a pharmacy technician & the class took me eight months, but we learned more than basic pharmacy. You can go on to specialize in certain areas & make good money.

When l started off at Walgreens l made $12.50 & hour, once l became certified l made $14.00 an hour. There r A LOT of places in demand for pharmacy technicians.

You do not need to go to school to become a tech (depending on what state u live in). You should go to this class though. You do not have to take the certification exam, but l recommend u do. If u already have a job as a tech u can get certified while ur working & they usually increase ur pay once u do.

l work in a hospital now though & l like it a lot better. l was an IV tech & now l am a chemotherapy technician.

In places like walgreens & CVS you'd make about $12-$15, in a Hospital u can make up to $20.

l definitely recommend becoming one.
