l just applied to a position online a week ago. How long can it take to get a call for a interview. l applied the same day it was posted. Do they have to keep the job posted for so many days before interviews? Thank You!

Hate to give u the bad news, but l have literally gotten calls for jobs l applied to online 4+ weeks after l applied. At the time l got some phone calls, l actually had completely forgotten about the job - it was so long. Had interviewed for & gotten another job by then. l really felt like laughing at some of the recruiters that called as it had been SUCH a long time since they had received my resume / application. l think some of them were made up jobs & they just took in applications until something opened up. Some jobs l never heard from at all, even though l have great experience in the field that they wanted --- maybe they r just getting too many applications, not sure.

Call to confirm they received your application and when you should expect a call for an interview. Employers love to see you take initiative, it shows you are serious about taking that position.
