l have applied for a job at Argos (a store in the uk) and l went for an assessment and they said if we were successful during the Assessment they would call us back for an Interview and luckily the next day l got a call for an interview but this will be my first ever interview l have no idea what to wear, what questions l will get asked or what will happen anyone got any ideas? l really need help!

You definitely need to dress professionally. Not necessarily a suit, but slacks, a button-down shirt & a tie with nice, clean shoes would be good. Research the company. Do u have any questions about it or the job u will be doing? Refrain from asking questions about benefits or vacation time. Think first about what u can do for the company, not what they will do for you.
Almost every interview I've ever been on has asked similar questions. If u think of responses to these questions now, u wo not feel flustered during the interview.

What is a personal quality u r proud of?

What about a not so good quality?

Describe a situation in a previous job or in ur life where u had to solve a problem. What did u do & what was the outcome?

Why do u think u r right for this job?

l think Christie has said it all, the only thing l would add is look at the person who is doing the interview, try to keep eye contact. Too many people look at the floor, door, walls when they r answering a question. Good luck to u & here is a star for luck.


On a jokey note years ago a lady told me that if u r feeling nervous during an interview think of the person who is interviewing u as naked. l could not do that as it would make me laugh & how do u explain an outburst of laughter during an interview.

Think ahead to how you will get to and from work if you get the job. They may ask you about earlier than usual start times, or late finish times, for instance, and you need to be confident that these are ok for you.
