l had an interview with the county. Should l send a thank you letter? They interviewers (there were two of them) said l will hear from HR in about 2 weeks. I am unsure if l should send one since it is up to HR to make the final decision.

Note: l do not know the interviewers' first names but I am not if I will spell their last name correctly.

a thank you letter is a nice touch! make sure that after you thank them that you say that you look forward to hearing from them. call the office and ask the receptionist what the interviewers names are and how to spell them correctly. you may be able to go on the county is web site and see if they have a directory of employee names. good luck. l hope you get the job!

Absolutely send a letter! Some people do one immediately & hand it to a receptionist but l always thought that was cheesy because it does not show any personal thought or reflection from the interview.

When writing a thank u letter always reiterate that u r extremely interested and/or excited about the position. Mention a few things discussed in the interview that apply to the position & state why u r confident u have the strengths to do those.

l just wanted to personally thank u for the interview today. It was a pleasure discussing this exciting position with ur company & l am extremely interested in the position as l am confident l have the skills for the job & also that there r some areas where l can grow & learn.

You mentioned in the interview that the position required great attention to detail. In my prior position as a bookkeeper l did weekly payroll & reconciled the bank accounts. This required great attention to detail.

Thank u again for the interview. l am very excited about the position & l look forward to hearing from u soon.

When u r personal & u mention items in the interview, re-stating ur strengths u let them know u paid attention to what they were saying & that u r already thinking of how u will fit into the position. They love that!
