My mom and l are really suspicious with these two girls... One around 14 or 15 and another around 17. My Mom is manager of this store and was not aware of how they came in to much untill l pointed it out and now she is suspicious as well. These girls come in and will stay into the store a hour and try on stuff but not buy anything... Sometimes they do buy things. Or they will put things on lay away and will come get it with in 2 days but most of the time they do not come get it. Which l feel they only put things on layaway to make them not look suspicious. l just have a feeling about them. They still came in way to many times not getting anything at all. l live in Florida and work at one of the Beals Outlets. l have read in the rules that l cannot ask one of the girls to open their purse. But a police officer can. My mom told me not to worry about it... But she keeps forgetting about it getting side tracked. So can l one day call the police and have the girls get checked out? Or can l only call the police if l know for sure they are stealing? l have no clue what to do. l feel that l have to do something. l know my Mom is way to busy to try and solve the case. She is all for ''If l catch them on camera we will do something'' but we only have 2 cameras in the store! I am sure they have ways to get around it. l do not know, do you think I am being crazy for thinking that they shoplift? What can l do to know for sure?
Also, they always have big bags... And they are always trying on a lot of clothes. What l think they MIGHT br doing is taking a few clothes that they like but also piled a lot of other clothes they are not interested in on top then go in the changing room and taking the clothes they do like. They also seem like they have a code... Literally every time one gets out of a changing room they always ask the other outside the changing room a ''yes or no'' question. It is always a ''yes or no'' question. Am l going crazy? I am really seeing this. Then l told my friend that worked there and she has been keeping an eye on the girls as well and she sees the same thing. l do not know???

You can not call the police on these girls on just ur suspicions. They have to be caught in the act in order to get the police involved. There r ways to get information without accusing these girls of anything. Put new clothes out on the racks while keeping a hawk eye on the girls.
Ask the girls if they need any assistance.
If the cameras r remote controlled, use one camera to keep an eye on the girls from the back room.

Another thought.
The girls r looking around & trying things on but not buying because they can not afford the clothes. The layaway is probably their way of having ur store hold the clothes they like while they attempt to convice mom & dad to buy the outfits. If the layaway does not get picked up its because mom & dad refused.

Tell your manager and let the management to deal with it. It is your best option.

she goes to the same stores every weekend & shops for hours & hours & hours and.......
(i drive & wait in the car listening to the ballgame).
very often she does not buy but that does not stop us from going back every week. sometimes she does buy that is why the businesses r there.

if u call the police u better have proof of ur claim & they must be caught after they exit the store or u will face the wrath of their attorneys & probably the stores attorneys. companies have policies for how to handle loss prevention for a reason, follow the policies.
