This will be my first ever interview and l have no experience whatsoever so I will need some help?What type of things might they ask and what can l do to prepare for it?

l am applying for the place of retail sales advisor in one of their shops.

OHH, l had a phone interview with o2 the other week.

They will ask you about the you gave on your application, in more detail, and some other questions about working with others and problems you might face, like angry customers.

Make sure u have a copy of ur application in front u when they call so that u can refer to anything u wrote.

They will most likely give u a scenario & ask how u would deal with it. You could also be asked what have u done before to show ur communication skills & such.

Before the interview l would write a list of possible questions & jot down some notes on what u might want to say. Just make sure u do not read off ur notes when on the phone as it is really obvious.

''Are u a people person, r u good dealing directly with customers?''

And the most COMMON interview questions that l have been asked at almost every interview:
''What was ur last job like?''
''What were ur responsibilities?''
''What major challenges or obstacles did u face, & how did u handle them?''
''Did u like ur supervisor? If yes or no, why?''
''When u r presented with a problem, how do u solve it?''
''Name a time when u had to work in a team & how u accomplished ur goal''
''Describe a difficult work situation & what u did to resolve it?''

just be calm, l find phone interviews r a lot easier than face to face. & if they ask u why u want the job do not say u want the money!
they will probably ask u things like why u want the job, what u would do in a situation where a customer is being abusive or what skills u have that could help u in the job.
how to answer them is always a tricky question. as long as u do not mention money, use some common sense & answer them.
a good hint with phone interviews is to get some friends to call before hand & write down what the questions are, just make sure they do not get the job!. its how l got my last job ;)

It is paramount to be able to discuss in detail every item listed on one is resume, and if possible to give examples when appropriate. It is also wise to research the company before the interview. To avoid being nervous, practice answering difficult questions. A good source of interview questions can be found by searching the Internet.
