My friend told me to write my overall objective on my CV, but since I've done that I've had very few interview offers in comparison to the places I've handed in my CV.
I am only looking for a sales assistant job and l have past experience as a sales assistant. I am 22 and have a degree.
The objective that written explains how l wanna be fashion journalist eventually. l thought this would be relevant as the shops I've been applying for have been mainly in clothes shops.
Do you think that the objective I've included is putting off employers?

All the jobs that are more suited to my degree, require past experience in that field of work (even receptionist and general admin positions).

Quite probably. If you have a degree and want to be a fashion journalist a potential employer will assume you will not be around long because you're too over qualified and ambitious to be a sales assistant. Either suppress your real ambition and say you hope to be a sales manager one day or look for a job more suited to your qualifications.

If you've got a degree why do you want to be a sales assistant anyway.?
