So l am what you call a professional student.l have been in school for the last 10 years trying to find my niche.

l am contemplating which education direction to pursue next:Social Work, or go back and ''try'' Nursing school again.

Long story short, l was in school to be a Physical Therapist Asst.But ADVANCED anatomy and losing my job suddenly, forced me to drop out of school.Both not being able to disect, rebuild, and learn the map of the body and not having enough money to drive to school posed me to change life is directions.Now God, what do l do?

l work for a company now that does not pay squat.Sure, we all feel that way about our job, but the money l make working 45 hours a week, l could make if not more working down the street at Red Lobster for half the hours.Is not that SAD?!

l thought Social work because l had previously been a counselor and my heart and my love was in that.That was the job that l lost.If l did SW, l would eventually be commuted to school two hours a day.One hour down, one hour back.The Nursing gig would be about 1:15 min commute back to the same school that l went to PTA school at...

l have never been so uncertain what l want from my life than now.l thought l had it all figured out, but obviously God has a different direction.

The one thing about Nursing is that l can not stand blood.That just grosses me out and makes me sick.

Both the nursing & social work/mental health field r supposed to have a high burn-out rate, however, if u really enjoy the area of counseling, perhaps social work is a viable option. Most need a master is degree (MSW) to open up the pool of jobs & possibly get a bit more money than someone with a bachelor is in social work (BSW). The MSW may also open up a private practice (usually after gaining experience in the field). Nursing itself includes learning a lot about anatomy & the human body as well as dealing with blood, at least, during clinicals while in school.

They say 'if u love what u do, u will never have to work a day in ur life' -- to go with one is passion as one will most likely need to work at that job for many years to come :)
